Ethics / Office Organization and Management

This presentation is geared toward a new attorney starting out in practice at a law firm or non-profit organization. A messy work environment, we have been told, is a sign of genius. As lawyers, however, we must observe ethics rules which include the duty of client confidentiality; the duty of competence; and prohibitions against representing clients whose interests conflict. A messy work environment can make us susceptible to lost documents, missed deadlines, and conflicts of interests.
